Find information about a city, its public services and job offers

To find the nearest train station, the easiest way is to search on Google Maps by typing “gare sncf” with the name of the city written in French.

Alternatively, the official rail station database is updated by the SNCF. You have to type the name of the city. If the column “Voyageur” (traveler) has the letter O, there is a passenger train station.

To find the prefecture, the easiest way is to search on Google Maps by typing “prefecture” with the name of the city written in French.

To find the nearest hospital, the easiest way is to search on Google Maps by typing “hôpital” with the name of the city written in French.

  • Go to the town hall of the commune and make an appointment with the CCAS (Communal Center for Social Action). They coordinate the social assistance of each municipality.

  • All towns and villages in France have been analyzed automatically with statistics for housing, work, access to public services, environment, etc.

  3. In “Saisissez une ville ou un rayon” (“Enter a city or a radius”), enter the name of the city in French
  4. Click on “Recherche” (“Search”)
